FBXO11 is a member of the F-box protein family, characterized by an approximately 40 amino acid motif called the F-box.
F-box proteins are part of the SCF (SKP1–Cullin–F-box) ubiquitin ligase complex, functioning in phosphorylation-dependent ubiquitination.
They are divided into three classes:

1. Fbws containing WD-40 domains
2. Fbls containing leucine-rich repeats
3. Fbxs containing various protein-protein interaction modules or no recognizable motifs

FBXO11 belongs to the Fbxs class. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified for this gene.
