Product Specific Information
The monoclonal antibody TB28-2 recognizes the kappa light chain of human immunoglobulin (~22 kDa), composed of one variable and one constant region. Two kappa chains with heavy chains form the complete immunoglobulin structure. Ig kappa expression is typically found on more than half of B lymphocytes.
Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and validated for flow cytometric analysis of normal human peripheral blood cells.
Recommended use: 5 µL (0.5 µg) per test (in 100 µL final volume).
Cell number: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test (empirically determined).
Fluorescence properties:
- Excitation: 488–561 nm
- Emission: 578 nm
- Compatible Lasers: Blue, Green, Yellow-Green
- Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered
Target Information
Immunoglobulins share a basic structure of two heavy and two light chains (kappa or lambda, ~22.5 kDa each). Kappa and lambda chains differ in constant region antigenicity, with a typical kappa:lambda ratio of 70:30.
Antibodies to the kappa light chain are useful for identifying leukemias, plasmacytomas, and certain non-Hodgkin’s lymphomas. Demonstration of clonality in lymphoid infiltrates suggests malignancy.
For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Not for resale without express authorization.
