Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene shows strong similarity to Saccharomyces cerevisiae Cdc45, an essential protein required for the initiation of DNA replication.
Cdc45 is part of a conserved multiprotein complex including Cdc6/Cdc18, MCMs, and DNA polymerase, crucial for early steps of DNA replication in eukaryotes.
It interacts with MCM7 and DNA polymerase alpha. Studies in Xenopus suggest that this protein plays a pivotal role in loading DNA polymerase alpha onto chromatin.
Multiple polyadenylation sites have been reported for this gene.
