- In Western blot applications, this antibody detects bands at approximately 32 kDa and 35 kDa.

Target Information
Apoptosis is related to many diseases and development. Caspase-9 plays a central role in cell death induced by a variety of apoptosis activators. Cytochrome c, after release from mitochondria, binds to Apaf-1 to form an apoptosome, which activates procaspase-9. Activated caspase-9 cleaves and activates effector caspases (caspase-3, -6, and -7), responsible for proteolytic cleavage of key proteins in apoptosis.
The tumor suppressor putative HLA-DR-associated proteins (PHAPs) have been identified as important regulators of mitochondrial apoptosis. PHAP facilitates apoptosome-mediated caspase-9 activation and stimulates the mitochondrial apoptotic pathway. It also opposes Ras- and Myc-mediated cell transformation.
