Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration. For extended storage, aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature.
This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.

In ELISA and other immunoreactive assays, this antibody recognizes both native and recombinant mouse IL-17F in cell supernatants and certain body fluids.
A control of similarly diluted normal rabbit IgG is recommended.

Target Information

IL-17F (Interleukin 17F, CTLA-8) is a cytokine belonging to the IL-17 family, produced by inflammatory cells such as activated T cells, mast cells, and basophils.
It is involved in allergic airway inflammation and induces cytokines, chemokines, and adhesion molecules in bronchial epithelial cells, vein endothelial cells, fibroblasts, and eosinophils.

IL-17F may be secreted as a homodimer or heterodimer with IL-17A, acting through the IL-17R receptor to recruit monocytes and neutrophils by increasing chemokine production.
It also stimulates TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6, and IL-8 production, and is implicated in chronic inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, and multiple sclerosis.

TGF-β and IL-23 are required for induction and maintenance of Th17 cells, which produce IL-17 and other pro-inflammatory cytokines.
IL-17F inhibits angiogenesis in endothelial cells and induces production of IL-2, TGF-β, and monocyte chemoattractant protein-1.
