1 µg/mL of MA5-27589 was sufficient for detection of HCN1 in 10 µg of rat brain lysate by colorimetric immunoblot analysis using Goat anti-mouse IgG:HRP as the secondary antibody.
Detects approximately 100 kDa. No cross-reactivity against HCN2.
Target Information
HCN1 encodes hyperpolarization-activated cation channels of the HCN gene family, contributing to spontaneous rhythmic activity in both heart and brain.
HCN1 and HCN2 are pacemaker channels activated by hyperpolarization and regulated by cyclic nucleotides.
HCN1 plays a key role in motor learning and neuronal integration by cerebellar Purkinje cells and shapes autonomous neuronal activity and network oscillations.
Expression of HCN1 is enriched in the cerebral cortex, hippocampus, cerebellum, and facial motor nucleus.
HCN2 is abundant in mamillary bodies, pontine nucleus, ventral cochlear nucleus, and nucleus of the trapezoid body.
These regional variations may influence neuronal pacemaker activity across brain systems.
