This antibody detects endogenous levels of PINK1 only when phosphorylated at Ser228.
Target Information
PINK1 (PTEN-induced putative kinase 1) protects cells from mitochondrial dysfunction by regulating autophosphorylation activity in mitochondrial genes. Its kinase domain is essential for protective effects. Mitochondrial proteins are vital for cellular energy regulation and stress adaptation. In brain cells, where energy demand is high, mitochondrial dysfunction can trigger neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson’s disease.
