Product Specific Information
The A20 monoclonal antibody reacts with the mouse CD45 molecule, the leukocyte common antigen (LCA) in CD45.1-expressing mouse strains (SJL/J, DA, STS/A, and RIII). CD45.1 is expressed by all leukocytes in these strains.
Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis and immunohistochemical staining of frozen tissue sections.
Applications Tested: Tested by flow cytometric analysis of mouse splenocytes at ≤0.25 µg per test (100 µL final volume). Cell number may vary from 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test. Antibody should be titrated for optimal performance.
Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.
Target Information
CD45 (LCA, leukocyte common antigen) is a receptor-type protein tyrosine phosphatase expressed in all nucleated hematopoietic cells, comprising ~10% of lymphocyte surface proteins. It regulates Src-family kinases, crucial for lymphocyte development and antigen signaling. CD45 isoforms differ by extracellular domains due to alternative splicing and vary by cell type and physiological state. CD45 also modulates integrin-mediated signaling and participates in apoptosis-related DNA fragmentation. CD45RA is one isoform with restricted lymphoid cell expression.
