Product Specific Information
- For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to obtain approximately 1 mg/mL antibody concentration.
- For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (recommended: Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
FMR1 binds RNA and associates with polysomes. It may be involved in mRNA trafficking from the nucleus to the cytoplasm. A trinucleotide repeat in the 5′ UTR normally contains 6–53 copies; expansion to 55–230 repeats causes fragile X syndrome. Repeat expansion may also lead to premature ovarian failure. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms located in distinct cellular compartments have been described.
