Product Specific Information
In direct ELISAs and Western blots, approximately 25% cross-reactivity with recombinant human (rh) Cathepsin H is observed and less than 2% cross-reactivity with recombinant mouse (rm) Cathepsin B, rmCathepsin C, rmCathepsin Z, rmCathepsin L, and rhCathepsin O is observed.
Reconstitute at 0.2 mg/mL in sterile PBS.
Target Information
The cathepsin family of proteolytic enzymes contains several diverse classes of proteases. The cysteine protease class comprises cathepsins B, L, H, K, S, and O. The aspartyl protease class is composed of cathepsins D and E. Cathepsin G is in the serine protease class.
Most cathepsins are lysosomal and each is involved in various cellular events such as peptide biosynthesis and protein degradation.
The propeptide region of cathepsin H is highly homologous to other cathepsins and is thought to play a role in the processing of cysteine proteases.
Cathepsin H is associated with several pathological conditions, including neurodegenerative disorders and cancer.
