Target Information
Nuclear factor kB p65 (NF-kB p65) is encoded by the RELA gene and located on chromosome 11 in humans. NF-kB p65 (RelA) belongs to the Rel family of proteins and forms heterodimers with p50 or p52 subunits of NF-kB.
Upon TNF alpha receptor activation, IKK phosphorylates IκB, leading to its proteasomal degradation and subsequent NF-kB activation. NF-kB p65 plays a key role in transcription of the immunoglobulin κ (kappa) gene in mature B-lymphoid cells.
