Product Specific Information

Description:
The eBioSN4 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD9, a 24 kDa member of the tetraspanin family characterized by four hydrophobic transmembrane domains. CD9 is expressed in platelets, eosinophils, basophils, pre-B cells, activated T cells, and neural cell lines.
CD9 expression is associated with malignant phenotypes, including non-T cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia and chronic lymphocytic leukemia. In platelets, CD9 interacts with integrin αIIb/βIII to mediate platelet aggregation. It also induces aggregation and migration in pre-B and Schwann cells and provides co-stimulatory signals for T cells independently of CD28.
Binding of eBioSN4 partially cross-blocks another anti-human CD9 antibody, MM2/57.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Tested by flow cytometry; optimal performance at ≤ 0.5 µg/test (100 µL final volume, 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).
Careful titration recommended.

Target Information

CD9 antigen is a glycoprotein expressed on developing B lymphocytes, platelets, monocytes, eosinophils, basophils, stimulated T lymphocytes, neurons, and glial cells. It belongs to the tetraspanin family with four transmembrane domains.
In pre-B cells and platelets, CD9 regulates activation and aggregation via integrin CD41/CD61. It plays roles in cell motility, osteoclastogenesis, neurite outgrowth, myotube formation, sperm-egg fusion, and T cell stimulation.
CD9 contributes to differentiation, adhesion, and signal transduction and acts as a metastasis suppressor in solid tumors.
