Target Information
Dynamins are a subfamily of GTP-binding proteins sharing sequence similarity in the N-terminal GTPase domain. They associate with microtubules and are involved in processes such as endocytosis, cell motility, and membrane remodeling (e.g., bone resorption by osteoclasts). Dynamins interact with actin-binding and other cytoskeletal proteins and can self-assemble, enhancing GTPase activity. Multiple alternatively spliced transcripts have been described, with additional variants possibly existing.
