Target Information
Dynamins are a subfamily of GTP-binding proteins sharing sequence similarity in the N-terminal GTPase domain. They associate with microtubules and are involved in cellular processes such as endocytosis, motility, and membrane remodeling (e.g., bone resorption by osteoclasts). Dynamins interact with actin-binding and cytoskeletal proteins, and their self-assembly enhances GTPase activity. Multiple alternatively spliced transcripts have been identified, though not all are fully characterized.
