Product Specific Information
Reconstitution:
Briefly centrifuge vial before opening. Reconstitute in sterile distilled water to 0.1–1.0 mg/mL. Do not vortex.
Store reconstituted solution at 2–8°C for up to 1 week. For long-term storage, dilute with buffer containing 0.1% BSA and store aliquots at -20°C to -80°C.Storage:
Lyophilized protein stable at room temperature for 1 month; for long-term, store at -20°C, preferably desiccated.
Working aliquots with carrier protein stable ≥12 months at -20°C to -80°C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
Target Information
IGFs are mitogenic polypeptide growth factors that promote proliferation and survival of various cell types, including muscle, bone, and cartilage in vitro.
Produced mainly by the liver, IGFs belong to the insulin gene family, sharing structural and functional similarity with insulin but exhibiting stronger growth-promoting activity.
IGF-II expression is influenced by placental lactogen, while IGF-I is regulated by growth hormone. Both signal through IGF-IR, though IGF-II can also interact with the IGF-II/Mannose-6-phosphate receptor. Mature IGFs are formed by proteolytic processing of inactive precursors containing N- and C-terminal propeptides.
