For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

IL-1 alpha (Interleukin-1 alpha) is a proinflammatory cytokine expressed by monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells.
It is encoded by the IL1A gene and signals through the receptors IL-1RI and IL-1RII, shared with IL-1 beta.
Located on chromosome 2q13, IL-1 alpha plays a key role in innate immunity by inducing other proinflammatory cytokines and acute-phase responses.
IL-1 alpha activity is regulated by IL-1 Receptor Antagonist (IL-1RA), which blocks receptor binding.
This cytokine is involved in immune responses, inflammation, and hematopoiesis.
Produced as a proprotein, IL-1 alpha is processed and released upon cell injury, inducing apoptosis.
The IL1A gene forms part of a cytokine gene cluster with other interleukin 1 family members on chromosome 2.
It regulates NF-kappaB and MAP kinase pathways, stimulates IL6 and COX-2 (PTGS2) expression, and enhances nitric oxide (NO) production.
Elevated IL-1 alpha levels are linked to chronic inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, and multiple sclerosis.
