Target Information
CD31 (platelet endothelial cell adhesion molecule-1, PECAM-1) is an inhibitory coreceptor regulating T and B cell signaling through dual ITIM motifs. Upon phosphorylation, these motifs provide docking sites for protein-tyrosine phosphatases.
CD31 is ubiquitously expressed in the vascular system, mainly at cell junctions. Its N-terminal Ig-like domain mediates homophilic binding, essential for cell-cell interactions.
