Product Specific Information

PA1-661 detects dynamin II (Dyn2) from rat, mouse, and human tissues and cells.
It has been successfully used in Western blot procedures, detecting an approximately 100 kDa Dyn2 protein from HeLa cell lysate.
The immunizing peptide corresponds to amino acid residues 760–779 of human Dyn2, which is 95% conserved in mouse and rat Dyn2.
The immunizing peptide (Cat. # PEP-056) is available for use in neutralization and control experiments.


Target Information

Dynamins are a subfamily of GTP-binding proteins sharing sequence similarity over the N-terminal GTPase domain.
They are associated with microtubules and play roles in endocytosis, cell motility, and membrane remodeling processes such as osteoclast-mediated bone resorption.
Dynamins interact with actin-binding and other cytoskeletal proteins and can self-assemble to stimulate GTPase activity.
Five alternatively spliced transcripts encoding different proteins have been described; additional variants may exist but are not fully characterized.
