Product Specific Information
The eBio17B7 antibody reacts with mouse and rat IL-17A, showing no cross-reactivity with IL-17F.
IL-17A is a CD4⁺ T cell-derived cytokine that promotes inflammatory responses and is elevated in autoimmune and inflammatory conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, asthma, multiple sclerosis, psoriasis, and transplant rejection.
High levels of IL-17A homodimer are produced by activated peripheral blood CD4⁺ T cells, enhancing ICAM-1 expression in fibroblasts and stimulating secretion of IL-6, IL-8, G-CSF, and PGE2.
IL-17A also supports proliferation and maturation of CD34⁺ hematopoietic progenitors into neutrophils.
IL-23-dependent, IL-17A-producing CD4⁺ T cells (Th17 cells) represent a distinct subset of helper T cells. IFN-γ and IL-4 negatively regulate Th17 cell generation.
Applications Reported: Useful for intracellular staining and flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Tested by intracellular staining and flow cytometry of restimulated, Th17-polarized mouse splenocytes using the Intracellular Fixation and Permeabilization Buffer Set (Product #88-8824-00). Recommended ≤0.125 µg/test.
Cell number per test may vary (10⁵–10⁸ cells). Optimize antibody titration for best performance.
Compatible with Foxp3 buffer system (Product #00-5523-00).

Target Information
Interleukin-17A (IL-17A, CTLA-8) is a 32 kDa disulfide-linked homodimer consisting of 136 amino acids, part of the IL-17 family (IL-17A–F). It signals through the IL-17 receptor (IL-17R/CDw217).
IL-17A regulates NF-κB and MAPK pathways, stimulates IL-6 and COX-2 expression, and enhances nitric oxide (NO) production.
