Product Specific Information
MA1-80192 recognizes human CD91, also known as alpha-2 macroglobulin receptor (alpha2 MR). It binds to an epitope in the extracellular region of the 500 kDa alpha chain.
A suggested positive control for immunohistochemistry is liver tissue.
Non-reducing conditions are recommended for Western blot applications.
For flow cytometry, use 10 µL of the recommended dilution to label 1×10⁶ cells in 100 µL.
Target Information
The LRP1 (CD91) protein is an endocytic receptor involved in intracellular signaling, lipid homeostasis, and clearance of apoptotic cells. It plays a role in A2M-mediated clearance of amyloid precursor protein and beta-amyloid, key components of amyloid plaques in Alzheimer’s disease. Expression decreases with age and is reduced in Alzheimer’s patient brain tissue.
