The JES6-5H4 antibody reacts with mouse interleukin-2 (IL-2), a 17 kDa T cell growth factor and major immunoregulatory cytokine.
Applications Reported:
- Blocking of fluorochrome-conjugated JES6-5H4 in intracellular flow cytometry as a specificity control
- Detection of mouse IL-2 by ELISA and immunoprecipitation
- Neutralization of IL-2 binding and biological activity (Functional Grade purified recommended)
Applications Tested:
Tested by sandwich ELISA for detection of mouse IL-2 in combination with JES6-1A12; recommended concentration 0.5–2 µg/mL.

Target Information
Interleukin 2 (IL-2) is an immuno-modulatory cytokine critical for the proliferation of activated T cells and differentiation of B cells, NK cells, monocytes, and macrophages.
IL-2 signals through the IL-2 receptor (IL-2R), a heterotrimeric complex sharing its gamma chain with IL-4 and IL-7 receptors.
Monoallelic expression of IL-2 in mature thymocytes ensures precise regulation.
Disruption of IL-2–related genes in mice induces colitis-like disease, highlighting its essential role in immune regulation.
