Target Information

ADAMTS proteases are secreted enzymes containing a prometalloprotease domain of the reprolysin type. These proteases function in processing of procollagens and von Willebrand factor, as well as catabolism of aggrecan, versican, and brevican. They play crucial roles in connective tissue organization, coagulation, inflammation, arthritis, angiogenesis, and cell migration.

The immunizing peptide sequence is 100% conserved between human, mouse, and rat.
ADAMTS9 is a member of the ADAMs family of proteinases with Thrombospondin motifs and shares 54% overall identity with ADAMTS20. It contains a GON-like domain at the carboxyterminal end, similar to the GON-1 protein in C. elegans, which is associated with gonadal development.

ADAMTS9 is expressed in ovary, testis, heart, placenta, lung, skeletal tissue, and pancreas, suggesting functions beyond reproductive development. Like ADAMTS20, ADAMTS9 has 15 thrombospondin-like domains.
