Preparation:
Produced from sera of goats immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human IL-1β. Anti-Human IL-1β-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography employing an immobilized Human IL-1β matrix.

Sandwich ELISA:
To detect Human IL-1β by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution), a concentration of 0.5–2.0 µg/mL of this antibody is required. Used with PeproTech Biotinylated Anti-Human IL-1β (500-P21BGBt) as detection antibody, it allows detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of recombinant Human IL-1β.

Western Blot:
To detect Human IL-1β by Western Blot analysis, use at 0.1–0.2 µg/mL. With compatible secondary reagents, detection limit for recombinant Human IL-1β is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

Interleukin-1 beta (IL-1β) is a proinflammatory cytokine expressed by monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells. It is synthesized as a 31 kDa inactive pro-form that accumulates in the cytosol and is cleaved into the active 17 kDa protein by inflammasome activation. IL-1β signals through IL-1RI and IL-1RII, shared with IL-1α. Its activity is regulated by IL-1 Receptor Antagonist (IL-1RA). IL-1β plays a key role in innate immune defense and inflammation, and elevated levels are associated with chronic inflammatory conditions.
