• Reconstitution: Add 25 µL, 50 µL, or 0.2 mL of double distilled water (DDW) depending on sample size.
• The antibody ships as a lyophilized powder at room temperature.
• Upon arrival, store at -20°C.
• Reconstituted solution can be stored at 4°C for up to 1 week.
• For longer storage, aliquot and store at -20°C.
• Avoid multiple freeze/thaw cycles.
• Centrifuge all antibody preparations before use (10,000 × g, 5 min).

Target Information

The GP130 protein is a signal transducer shared by multiple cytokines, including IL6, CNTF, LIF, and OSM. It functions as part of the cytokine receptor complex, with activation dependent on cytokine binding. vIL6, encoded by Kaposi sarcoma-associated herpesvirus, can directly activate GP130, bypassing IL6R. Mouse knockout studies indicate a critical role in regulating myocyte apoptosis. Alternative splicing generates distinct isoforms.
