Product Specific Information

The MB19-1 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD19, a 95 kDa transmembrane glycoprotein expressed by B cells throughout development, excluding plasma cells. Follicular dendritic cells also express CD19. CD19 forms a multimolecular complex with CD21, CD81, and MHC class II, associating with the B cell receptor (BCR). CD19 signaling induces tyrosine phosphorylation, calcium flux, and B cell proliferation. Staining with MB19-1 is typically dimmer than that with the rat anti-mouse CD19 clone 6D5.

Applications Tested: Tested on mouse splenocytes; ≤1 µg/test recommended.
A test is defined as the amount of antibody sufficient to stain cells in 100 µL final volume. Cell number may range from 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test. Optimize titration for best performance.

Target Information

CD19 is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily with two Ig-like domains. It is expressed on all peripheral B cells and some myeloid leukemia cells. CD19 acts as a coreceptor with the B cell receptor (BCR), lowering the threshold for activation and amplifying antigen receptor signaling. It plays a central role in regulating normal and malignant B cell proliferation. Mutations can cause hypogammaglobulinemia, while overexpression leads to B cell hyperactivity.
