Target Information
CD45 (LCA, leukocyte common antigen) is a receptor-type protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) expressed in all nucleated hematopoietic cells, accounting for about 10% of lymphocyte surface proteins. It is absent in non-hematopoietic cells and tissues. CD45 plays a critical role in lymphocyte development and antigen signaling by regulating Src-family kinases. Multiple isoforms exist due to alternative splicing, differing mainly in extracellular domains. CD45 regulates T- and B-cell receptor signaling, modulates integrin-mediated pathways, and influences apoptosis and cytokine receptor signaling.
