• Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature (RT).
• Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 min at 95°C, followed by cooling at RT for 20 minutes.

Target Information

The serum amyloid A (SAA) family comprises differentially expressed apolipoproteins, including acute-phase SAA1 and SAA2—the former being the major plasma component. Although the liver is the primary site of synthesis, extrahepatic production has been reported. In vivo concentrations can increase up to 1000-fold during inflammation. SAA plays an important role in diagnosis and monitoring of various diseases. Pathological SAA values are often detected even when CRP concentrations are normal; SAA rises earlier and more sharply than CRP. A broader view of SAA expression and function is emerging in recent studies.
