This peptide corresponds to 16 amino acids from the amino terminus of human BACE2.
PEP-0075 can be used as a blocking peptide with polyclonal antibody PA5-19950.
Target Information
BACE2 (Beta Secretase 2) is responsible for the proteolytic processing of the amyloid precursor protein (APP).
BACE2 cleaves APP between residues 690 and 691, leading to the generation and extracellular release of beta-cleaved soluble APP.
It is also known to cleave APP between residues 671 and 672.
Accumulation of APP is a hallmark of Alzheimer’s disease and a frequent complication in adult Down syndrome patients.
