Product Specific Information

This antibody was cross-adsorbed to unphosphorylated-N-WASP (S484/S485) peptide and then affinity purified using phospho-N-WASP (S484/S485) peptide.
It detects a 63 kDa protein corresponding to phosphorylated WASP on SDS-PAGE immunoblots of Jurkat cell lysate.
In rat brain, A431, human endothelial, and SKN-SH cells, it detects a 65 kDa protein corresponding to phosphorylated N-WASP.

Target Information

The Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome (WAS) family of proteins share similar domain structures and are involved in transducing signals from cell surface receptors to the actin cytoskeleton.
These proteins contain multiple regulatory motifs and interact with various signaling molecules.
They associate with the small GTPase Cdc42, which regulates actin filament formation and the cytoskeletal organizing complex Arp2/3.
The WASL gene product, a homolog of WAS protein, is ubiquitously expressed with highest levels in neural tissues.
It binds directly to Cdc42 and induces the formation of long actin microspikes.
