Product Specific Information
The antibody detects a 98 kDa protein corresponding to the molecular mass of Vav3 on SDS-PAGE immunoblots of human Jurkat cells. It also strongly detects an unidentified protein at 120 kDa in Jurkat and K562 cells.
Target Information
This gene belongs to the VAV gene family. VAV proteins are guanine nucleotide exchange factors (GEFs) for Rho family GTPases that activate pathways leading to actin cytoskeletal rearrangements and transcriptional changes. The gene product acts as a GEF preferentially for RhoG, RhoA, and to a lesser extent, RAC1, associating maximally with the nucleotide-free states of these GTPases. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described.
