Target Information
PTGS1 (COX1, Cyclooxygenase 1)는 프로스타글란딘 생합성의 핵심 효소로, dioxygenase 및 peroxidase 활성을 모두 가집니다. PTGS에는 항상성 발현형인 PTGS1과 유도형 PTGS2 두 가지 동형이 있으며, 발현 조절 및 조직 분포가 다릅니다.
이 유전자는 PTGS1을 암호화하며, 내피세포의 혈관신생을 조절하고 아스피린과 같은 비스테로이드성 항염증제(NSAIDs)에 의해 억제됩니다. 또한 세포 간 신호전달과 조직 항상성 유지에 관여하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
대체 스플라이싱으로 두 가지 전사 변이체를 생성하며, 이들의 발현은 사이토카인 및 성장인자에 의해 상이하게 조절됩니다.
