Product Specific Information

This HTF-1 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD142 (Tissue Factor). CD142 is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein expressed on endothelial cells, monocytes, macrophages, and platelets, and can be induced by inflammatory mediators such as LPS, IL-1β, TNFα, PMA, or endotoxin. It is constitutively expressed in certain tumor cells (lung, pancreatic, breast, colon) and non-immune tissues including vasculature, CNS, kidney, epithelia, and placenta. Soluble forms of CD142 also circulate in blood.

CD142 initiates blood coagulation by associating with and activating circulating factors VII and VIIa. The HTF-1 antibody has been reported to exhibit blocking activity.

Target Information

This gene encodes coagulation factor III, a cell surface glycoprotein that initiates the blood coagulation cascade by acting as a high-affinity receptor for coagulation factor VII. The resulting complex triggers protease cascades through limited proteolysis. Unlike other cofactors, this factor is fully functional when expressed on cell surfaces. It contains extracellular, transmembrane, and cytoplasmic domains and is the only coagulation factor without a described congenital deficiency.
