Target Information

This protein contains a GTPase activator for the Rho-type GTPases (RhoGAP) domain that negatively regulates the actin cytoskeleton and cell spreading. It also includes an N-terminal BAR-domain that exerts an autoinhibitory effect on RhoGAP activity.
HA-1 is a precursor of the histocompatibility antigen HA-1, a minor histocompatibility antigen (mHag) that can elicit immune responses when presented by MHC molecules. These peptides, derived from polymorphic intracellular proteins, can trigger graft rejection or graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) after HLA-identical bone marrow transplantation.
Mismatch of mHag HA-1 is associated with severe GVHD, and HA-1 is presented by MHC class I HLA-A*0201 and other HLA-A alleles, eliciting donor cytotoxic T-lymphocyte (CTL) reactivity against hematologic malignancies.
