Target Information
GPR83 is a 423 amino acid orphan G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) that is closely related to tachykinin and NPY receptors. It is a human homolog of the mouse GIR protein and is selectively expressed and upregulated in the brain. GPR83 is a cell surface receptor with a putative seven-transmembrane domain and may play a role in regulating immune tolerance by inducing peripheral generation of Foxp3⁺ Treg cells.
