Specificity: SE2 antibody is specific for IL-8RA and does not cross-react with IL-8RB.
IL-8RA is a receptor to interleukin-8, a powerful neutrophil chemotactic factor. Binding of IL-8 to this receptor causes activation of neutrophils.
Target Information
CXCR1 is a member of the G-protein-coupled receptor family and acts as a receptor for interleukin 8 (IL8).
It binds IL8 with high affinity and transduces the signal through a G-protein activated second messenger system.
Knockout studies in mice suggest that this protein inhibits embryonic oligodendrocyte precursor migration in the developing spinal cord.
This gene, together with IL8RB and the pseudogene IL8RBP, forms a gene cluster mapped to chromosome 2q33–q36.
