Product Specific Information

The M1/70 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD11b, a 165–170 kDa integrin alphaM. CD11b forms a non-covalent complex with CD18 (Mac-1) and binds CD54 (ICAM-1), C3bi, and fibrinogen. It is expressed by macrophages, NK cells, granulocytes, activated lymphocytes, and mouse B-1 cells. M1/70 also cross-reacts with human CD11b for detection on monocytes, granulocytes, and NK cell subsets.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Tested on mouse splenocytes and bone marrow cells at ≤0.4 µg/test (100 µL final volume).
Recommended titration for optimal performance.

Compatibility Notice:
NovaFluor dyes are incompatible with DNA intercalating viability dyes (e.g., PI, 7-AAD, DAPI).
Use Invitrogen LIVE/DEAD Fixable Dead Cell stains for viability assays.

CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer:
Updated formulation (Cat. No. C001T06F01) enhances staining performance.
Add 5 µL per sample (10³–10⁸ cells) for single-color or multi-color panels.

NovaFluor Technology:
Based on Phiton™ nucleic acid dye structures engineered for optimized fluorescence and reduced spillover.

Target Information

CD11b (integrin alpha-M, ITGAM) is a 165 kDa adhesion molecule forming the CD11b/CD18 complex (Mac-1, CR3). Expressed on monocytes/macrophages, granulocytes, activated lymphocytes, NK cells, dendritic cells, and microglia. Functions as receptor for ICAM-1, ICAM-2, ICAM-4, CD14, CD50, CD23, heparin, iC3b, fibrinogen, and Factor X.
Expression varies by tissue and maturation stage; used as a microglial marker.
Associated with systemic lupus erythematosus and ITGAM-related susceptibility.
