Target Information
NF-kappa-B inhibitor-like protein 1 (NFKBIL1), also known as Ikb-like or IkbL1, is a 381 amino acid member of the inhibitor of NF-kappaB (IkappaB) family. NFKBIL1 contains two ANK repeats and is expressed in the rheumatoid synovial lining and sub-lining layers, co-localized in CD68+ and CD3+ cells, but not in Factor VIII+ cells. Defects in NFKBIL1 expression are associated with susceptibility to rheumatoid arthritis (RA), a systemic autoimmune inflammatory disease affecting joints and connective tissues.
