Product Specific Information

This antibody reacts strongly with both ERK1 and ERK2. Reactivity has been confirmed by western blot analysis of extracts derived from human A431 and K562 cells, canine MDCK cells, mouse brain, rat brain, and recombinant ERK2.


Target Information

ERK1 and ERK2 are widely expressed and involved in the regulation of meiosis, mitosis, and postmitotic functions in differentiated cells. Activation occurs via growth factors, cytokines, viral infection, and G protein-coupled receptor ligands. Once activated, the ERK pathway phosphorylates cytoplasmic targets or translocates to the nucleus to activate transcription factors such as c-Fos and Elk-1.
