Target Information
SGO2 cooperates with PPP2CA to protect centromeric cohesin from separase-mediated cleavage in oocytes during meiosis I. It plays a crucial role in maintaining centromeric cohesion until metaphase II/anaphase II transition, ensuring accurate gametogenesis. SGO2 may act by targeting PPP2CA to centromeres for cohesin dephosphorylation and is essential for recruiting KIF2C and AUKRB to correct kinetochore attachments.
