Target Information

DCAMKL1 (DCLK1), also known as doublecortin-like kinase 1, is a serine/threonine kinase containing two N-terminal doublecortin domains that bind microtubules and regulate microtubule polymerization.
It also includes a C-terminal serine/threonine protein kinase domain homologous to Ca²⁺/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase, and a serine/proline-rich domain between these regions that mediates multiple protein-protein interactions.
DCLK1 can undergo autophosphorylation and exhibits microtubule-polymerizing activity independent of its kinase activity.
It is involved in neuronal migration, retrograde transport, neuronal apoptosis, and neurogenesis.
