This antibody detects endogenous levels of total MRC2 protein.
Target Information
MRC2 may function as an endocytic lectin receptor with calcium-dependent activity, internalizing glycosylated ligands via clathrin-mediated endocytosis. It may play a role in the plasminogen activation system, regulating PLAUR/PLAU and protease activity at the cell surface. MRC2 contributes to the uptake, remodeling, and degradation of extracellular collagen matrices, potentially influencing cancer progression and chronic tissue-destructive diseases through collagen turnover. It may also cooperate with matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) in extracellular matrix remodeling.
