The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is > 95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Target Information
Secreted Frizzled-Related Proteins (sFRPs) are a family of glycosylated Wnt antagonists characterized by a conserved cysteine-rich domain homologous to Frizzled proteins. sFRPs lack transmembrane and intracellular domains, functioning as soluble modulators of the Wnt signaling pathway by directly binding Wnt proteins and inhibiting receptor interaction.
sFRP-4 is expressed in various embryonic and adult tissues and acts as an antiangiogenic and proapoptotic factor, inhibiting insulin secretion and tumor growth through Wnt pathway suppression. Reduced circulating sFRP-4 correlates with cancer progression (ovarian, endometrial, prostate, lung), while increased levels are linked to type 2 diabetes and reduced keratinocyte hyperproliferation in psoriasis.
