Target Information
ERK1 and ERK2 are widely expressed and are involved in the regulation of meiosis, mitosis, and postmitotic functions in differentiated cells.
Various stimuli such as growth factors, cytokines, virus infection, and transforming agents activate the ERK1/ERK2 pathways.
Upon activation, ERKs phosphorylate cytoplasmic targets or migrate to the nucleus to activate transcription factors including c-Fos and Elk-1.
