This antibody detects endogenous levels of PLCG2 only when phosphorylated at Tyr1217.
Target Information
Phosphoinositide-specific phospholipase C (PLC) plays a crucial role in receptor-mediated signal transduction by generating two second messengers, inositol 1,4,5-triphosphate and diacylglycerol, from phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate. Multiple mammalian PLC isozymes exist, including PLCβ1–4, PLCγ1–2, PLCδ1–2, and PLCε.
PLCδ1 acts as a calcium signal amplifier and is activated by an atypical GTP-binding protein. It serves as an effector for GTP-binding protein transglutaminase II-mediated oxytocin receptor and α1B-adrenoreceptor signaling. Mouse PLCδ1 is highly expressed in brain, heart, lung, and testis.
PLCδ accumulation has been observed in Alzheimer’s disease brains, suggesting a pathological role. PLCδ2 is markedly expressed in type II intestinal metaplasia and adenocarcinoma, potentially serving as a marker for gastric malignant transformation.
