Target Information

Histone H3 is a DNA-binding protein found in the chromatin of all eukaryotic cells. Together with four core histone proteins, it binds to DNA forming the nucleosome structure. Histones play a key role in transcription regulation, DNA repair, replication, and chromosomal stability.
Post-translational modifications of histones, such as methylation, acetylation, and phosphorylation, influence chromatin structure and gene expression. The N-terminal tail of histone H3 can be modified at lysine, arginine, serine, or threonine residues, affecting various cellular processes.
