Target Information

Heterogeneous nuclear RNAs (hnRNAs), including mRNA precursors and mature mRNAs, are associated with specific proteins to form heterogeneous ribonucleoprotein (hnRNP) complexes. hnRNP L is among the proteins stably associated with these complexes and plays a key role in mRNA formation, packaging, processing, and function.
It is primarily located in the nucleoplasm but can also be found outside of it. hnRNP proteins shuttle between the nucleus and cytoplasm, suggesting potential cytoplasmic functions. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified for this gene.
