Specificity of this antibody: TRPM6
Target Information
TRPM6 is predominantly expressed in the kidney and colon, encoding a protein with both ion channel and protein kinase domains. It plays a crucial role in magnesium homeostasis and is essential for epithelial magnesium transport and active absorption in the gut and kidney.
Mutations in TRPM6 are associated with hypomagnesemia with secondary hypocalcemia.
Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been observed.
TRPC7 is thought to form a receptor-activated non-selective calcium permeant cation channel, operated by phosphatidylinositol second messenger systems activated by receptor tyrosine kinases or G-protein coupled receptors, and can be activated by diacylglycerol (DAG) or intracellular calcium store depletion.
