Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of about 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

Glyceraldehyde 3-Phosphate Dehydrogenase (GAPDH) is a metabolic enzyme that catalyzes a step in the glycolytic pathway—the reversible oxidative phosphorylation of glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate.
Because GAPDH is abundantly expressed and essential for cellular housekeeping functions, GAPDH mRNA levels are often used as standards in gene expression studies.
Specific antibodies to GAPDH are increasingly used to study protein expression levels. GAPDH interacts with various proteins, including amyloid precursor protein (linked to Alzheimer’s disease) and Huntingtin (linked to Huntington’s disease).
Associations with actin and tubulin have also been reported. GAPDH may play a role in apoptosis regulation and translocates from the cytoplasm to the nucleus during apoptosis.
