Target Information

TRH-R is a 398 amino acid integral membrane protein with six transmembrane domains, belonging to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family. It acts as a receptor for the signaling hormone TRH and activates the inositol phospholipid–calcium–protein kinase C transduction pathway upon TRH binding.
Reports suggest TRH-R functions as a neurotransmitter and neuroregulator, controlling receptor dimerization and hormone-induced trafficking. It is widely expressed in thyrotroph cells of the anterior pituitary.
