Cytoculture® Lead-Shielded Class II Biosafety Cabinet
The Esco Cytoculture® Lead-Shielded Class II biosafety cabinet is designed for use in the radiopharmaceutical industry and protects the operator during work involving radioisotopes.
Superior Protection for Radioisotope Laboratories
The operator is protected from radiation by lead-shielded sides, a lead-shielded work zone bottom, and a lead-shielded front sliding sash.
Air enters the cabinet through the front air grille, passes through the KI-impregnated carbon filter that adsorbs radioactive iodine, and then moves to the blower plenum where it is filtered by ULPA filters before being exhausted.

- Extra Safety: Cabinet air is filtered via two exhaust filters, allowing filter changes without prior decontamination
- Lead-Shielded Protection: 3 mm Pb lead-shielding on cabinet front sides and work zone bottom
- Radiation-proof glass with lead equivalence of 3 mm
- KI (potassium iodide) impregnated carbon filter for iodine adsorption
- ULPA filters with >99.999% efficiency for 0.1–0.3 µm particles, providing ISO Class 3 cleanliness
- Isocide™ antimicrobial coated structure eliminates 99.9% of bacterial presence on external surfaces within 24 hours
- Ergonomic sloped front reduces glare and enhances operator comfort
- Microprocessor-based control and alarm system with extremely low noise
- Additional options:
- Lead-shielded back panel
- Increased lead shielding thickness up to 6 mm
